Sciatica

This occurs mostly due to PIVD, mostly when the disc between L4-L5 (Lumber vertebral) gets prolapsed and L5-S1-Lumber –Sacral part) results in causing pressure on the sciatic nerve that supplies Nerve-Supply to both legs. Some time problem in the one leg occur and some times it may occur in both legs. In this problem, there is intolerable /shooting pain occurs in leg/legs. Some times there is cause having sensation of numbeness of fingers of tool or N. of foot, or new in calf muscles or some times numbeness of the whole legs may occurs. With PIVD and sciatica complaints and create whole ness to the patient. Pain in thighs and towards pelvis region, pain in buttocks radiates towards leg/legs.

  1. Other then these two common back bone problems, there are sometimes due to postural problems, person have tendency to work, walk or stand in head down position and in passage of time were back have starts getting bending forward. Initially it may not but after few years he/she starts problem to twist, turn, stand it erect or backward bending (which nature has provided as since birth).

  2. There may be some cancerous or infectious problem of the spine may occur in very rare cases. For example T.B. of the bone/vertebrae or any other tumor in the spine. The allopathic treatment is suggested for the cure of T.B./Tumer  after that Spine can be strengthen by few concerned yoga postures under strick observation.

    Important :- Ruptured Spine/ Spinal cord has been treated and can be treated under very strict Yoga expert.

  3. Treatment :-  We prescribe yogic treatment above said cases of lower spine problems, according to factors listed below:-
    • Age and health of the patient
    • Stage of the disease i.e. any other case history of illness like blood pressure, sugar, Cardiac disorders, obesity etc.
    • Intensity of Yogic Asans/postures and timing.
    • Addition of more asans/postures as health gets improvement.

      We also deal bed ridden cases who are unable to walk few steps dew to this problems.
  4. Change/reductions of asans/posture’s frequency and timing as the conditions improve.
  5. Relaxing exercises from our side to get more releaf and boost up recovery.
  6. After the patient is fully recovered, forward bending postures are added in routine life.
  • Asans:-

  1. Taan Asan.
  2. Ghutne Chanan –I One Leg , II On stomach
  3. Pag Chanan Asan
  4. Ardh Chakra Asan –III Poses
  5. Ardh Chakra with bench or stool.
  6. Ardh Bhujang Asan.
  7. Shalabh Asan –II Poses.
  8. Vajra Asan.
  9. Sarwang Asan With some precautions.
  10. Padam Asan / Ardh Parvat Asan.
  11. Shav Asan
  • Additions
    Antar Chanan Asan,
    Ghutne Chanan with one leg,
    after 5 days Pag Chalan IInd pose,
    Ardh Matsyendra Asan.

  • Precautions:-
    1. No forward bending atleast for 15 days or if possible after full recovery not more than 2 months.
    2. Not lifting of one/two legs while lying on your back (Uthan Pad Asan).
    3. No Pawan Mukta Asan.
    4. No sterness breathing exercises like Kapal Bhati and Udyan Bandh etc.
    5. No lifting of weight.
    6. Driving motorcycle for 10 days/ depending on condition or traveling long distances in car. No Standing jobs, while sitting long hours change the posture/position after every 30 minutes.
    7.  No mixing of other Yogic postures or any exercise recommended by any one.
    8. No jerks.
    9. No Surya Namaskar postures.
    10. No Pashchimotan/ Janushira Asan.
      7,9,10 otherwise good for normal spine.
